« Meeting bilingual professionals and entrepreneurs who have chosen to use both official languages in their day-to-day work will allow young people in Newfoundland and Labrador to better understand the importance of preserving French, even in a province like ours with 95.1% of the population not speaking French, as well as to become aware of the opportunities that come with it.»
In total, the two events in 2018, held in Torbay and Stephenville, attracted 71 exhibitors and welcomed 753 students from 18 high schools.
The Bilingual Post-secondary Career and Entrepreneurship Day 2018 was made possible with the financial support of the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador (the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts and Recreation (TCAR)) and the Department of Post-Secondary Education, Skills and Labour (AESL)), the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), and the Government of Quebec’s Secrétariat aux relations canadiennes (SQRC), through financial support programs for Canadian Francophone communities.
The 7th edition was made possible thanks to the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, the Secrétariat du Québec aux relations canadiennes, the Newfoundland and Labrador English School District and the Conseil Scolaire Francophone Provincial. We thank them for their support.
