MON AVENIR J'Y VOIS 2.0

Subsidy Program

Are you an employer in Newfoundland and Labrador? Do you find it difficult to fill certain positions within your business?

2 Birds with 1 Stone

Here is an opportunity for you to recruit employees and, at the same time, provide a young person under the age of 30 with their first meaningful work experience!

Introducing the “Mon avenir j’y vois 2.0” program! (My Future, I’m Working on It 2.0) Funded by Employment and Social Development Canada and managed locally by Horizon TNL in partnership with “Actions Interculturelles Canada,” this 16-week program partially covers salaries up to the provincial minimum wage. The program aims to help employers with labour shortages by facilitating the integration of youth into the labour market and by offering paid training to support skills development.

Young people employed under this program must meet the following requirements:

  • be between 16 and 30 years old inclusively
  • be available to work full time (a minimum of 30 hours and a maximum of 40 hours per week)
  • be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have valid Canadian refugee status
  • be legally authorized to work in Canada

If you have already hired a young person that fits these requirements within the last two months, they are also eligible to be enrolled in the program!
